My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fred is a very loving, 18 month old  Jack Russell Mix who enjoys being held, cuddled, playing with other dogs, cats and all people.  He is very friendly!!

A horrible thing had happened to Fred in his original 'home'.  He was hit by a car and refused medical care!  Instead of receiving help, Fred's owners literally hid him from the Humane Society for two months!  One day, the neighbors spotted him, saw him limping and brought him in for help. When they called his owners, they claimed he wasn't theirs!

Fred had lived through the excruciating pain of a shattered shoulder joint which can now NOT be repaired.   He is no longer in pain but has lost the full mobility of his right front leg.  Instead, he functions like a 3 legged dog with a built-in cane.  He can put weight on it and walk on if he's not taking huge steps but if he needs to get somewhere quick, he holds it up and uses his other three legs.

Despite being pain free, Fred does not object to receiving our sympathy treats and extra loving for his past trauma!  He sits there with his little paw held up while we tilt our heads, pout our lips, say 'awww' and give him an extra treat!    He says 'thank you' to all you compassionate people out there!

Now Fred is looking for a home who is responsible and compassionate enough to take him to a doctor when he needs to go.  That would include annual physicals, vaccinations, AND when he's feeling bad or let's say..gets hit by a car!!!

In exchange for proper care, Fred will give back with his loyalty, devotion, sloppy kisses and cuddle time!  He will also poop and pee outside, sit in crate when you put him there, keep you warm at night, watch movies with you and alert you when something strange happens around the house!   He'll even clean up your crumbs from the floor; ultimately cutting down on your vacuum time :-)

If you a place in your heart and your home for this very friendly boy, let us know!!

NOTE:  Because Fred has already been hit by a car once, we are requiring that he have a physically fenced hard.

All Dogs Unlimited Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and are given a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Upon adoption, all vet records and any current medications are provided to the adopter.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application located at http://www.dogsunlimitedrescue.org/Adopt.html

THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE AN ADOPTION NOR DOES IT OBLIGATE YOU TO ADOPT. Multiple applications are accepted for any available pet and a home is chosen that is the best match between the available pet and the potential furever family. Your application will be processed as quickly as possible and if approved, a home visit would be scheduled. No adoption is final until an Adoption Agreement is presented and agreed to by both parties.

Our goal is to find the right match of our dogs to their new family so all involved are furever happy! Questions: email adopt@dogsunlimitedrescue.org

And THANK YOU for considering a rescue dog for your family!
