My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our TNR department had their hands full when they pulled Baby Nickel from an apartment where 27 other cats were living. For a cat that probably received little to no human affection, Baby Nickel is a diamond in the rough. He is quiet but curious, and enjoys having a sunny window to sit in. Bonded with his companion Bebe Dime, Baby Nickel is very playful and active once he is comfortable in the home. Will you be so lucky to have this great pair of kitties? Baby Nickel and Bebe Dime were born around 2009, and both test positive for FIV*.

*Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) causes a weakening of the immune system in cats. It's often compared to human HIV, but FIV is not transferable to humans or other species. It is also difficult to transfer to other sterilized cats, and we believe that mixed FIV and non-FIV households can work if managed properly. If kept indoors in a stress-free environment, with regular medical care and high-quality nutrition, most FIV+ cats live long and healthy lives. Tree House staff can help answer your questions to see if an FIV+ cat is the right choice for you. FIV+ cats adopted from Tree House are eligible for a lifetime veterinary-care plan that includes a free annual exam and discounted treatments.
