When one thinks of Cocoa they usually think of warm, comforting, snuggling up with a blanket on the couch... and trust us, our loveable Cocoa is no exception. He would just love to snuggle up with his future fur-ever family, cozy as a bug in a rug, getting his belly rubbed and his ears scratched. Don't you want to help this sweet boy live up to his name? Cocoa is about 18 months old, UTD on shots, spayed, playful but loving, and available for adoption from Second Chance Shelter in Boaz for a $30 adoption fee. (Cocoa wants us to remind you he is good even in the summer months, unlike his winter beverage namesake ;)

About Second Chance Shelter

About Our Shelter...

My name is Wanda McGee, and my husband, Doug, and I started the Second Chance Shelter in May of 2008. He was a police officer in Albertville, AL and they were euthanizing over 130 healthy dogs a month just in this small town. We had to do something! We are a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. We operate mainly off of private donations. However, if we receive a dog from Albertville City or Marshall County animal control, we receive $60.00 per dog, which pretty much covers the cost of spaying/neutering that dog.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our address is 130 County Road 398, Boaz AL. Our operating hours are 9-4 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. 9-2 on Saturday, and closed on Sunday and Wednesday. We do lots of off- site adoption events when the weather permits. Check out our facebook page at www.facebook.com/2ndchanceshelter.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee is $40.00. We have a detailed adoption application, we do not adopt out dogs that have not been spayed or neutered, and we do not allow dogs adopted from the shelter to be placed on permanent chains.
