My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet little girl was found tossed out in the parking lot of our shelter on one of the coldest days this year so far, left to fend for herself. One of our staff members happened to spot her in snow bank on the way into the building. She was shaking, freezing and terrified but luckily sustained no serious injuries other than a few strained muscles. Caramel has made a full recovery thanks to the love and dedication of her foster mom. Below is a description of her from her foster mom;
"Carmel is a lap dog. She LOVES to cuddle!

Carmel knows lots of commands. Sit, down (as in lay down), shake, off (as in get off the couch), out, focus, little bite, be nice (as in kisses are ok but no teeth), and leave it. Currently working on wait and to your bed.

She's about 90% potty trained, very important to let her outside every couple hours to continue to finish her potty training. She goes into her kennel without any problems.

Carmel has lots of energy! She has lots of squeaky toys and ropes to play tug of war, but her favorite is her ball. She has both indoor & outdoor tennis balls. She never gets tired of chasing them! She also loves to talk walks and run and jump off the leash in our fenced in backyard.

Carmel doesn't like to get in the car. In order to keep her calm in the car I put her in a small pet bed and special harness that the seat belt goes into. I bought the harness for her and it will go with her to her new home.

Bones and other chewables are very important to keep Carmels teething mouth occupied in a good way!

Carmel gets along with other dogs. If you are interested in meeting with Caramel, please fill out an application today."

Caramel is a very special girl who is going to need multiple visits with potential families. She will need time to learn to trust (tasty treats help!) and will need to be in a home with no children under 13, and not cats. If Caramel sounds like the girl for you, ask about a visit with her today!
