Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Lucy" is a beautiful 1-yo spayed female GSD with lots of puppy energy and personality. Lucy is an affectionate dog and likes to snuggle. She is friendly with strangers and though her owner has not had her around young children, I'm very confident that she will be good with them. Lucy gets along great with most dogs, but she really dislikes the older, smaller female dog that she lives with. In fact, it's because of the animosity between Lucy and that dog that her owner is seeking a new home for her. We don't know how Lucy is with cats, so we will only consider a home w/out cats for her. Lucy is a medium-size GSD and weighs about 65 lbs.
Lucy is fully housetrained and generally calm inside. She does get very excited when strangers come over and wants to jump up on them, so she does need work on this behavior. Lucy obeys "sit, shake, and lie down" commands. Lucy's owner Phyllis mostly walks/runs her alongside her golf cart, which she does very well. Lucy will likely need some basic leash training for walking besides a person. Lucy loves water and to play with toys.
Phyllis adopted Lucy from the Merced County Shelter on 10-31-14. Though Phyllis is very attached to Lucy, she is unable to keep Lucy because of the tension between Lucy and her older little dog.
GSRSV has evaluated Lucy and is placing her as a "Program Dog." This means that GSRSV is placing Lucy through its adoption program while her owner continues to care for her. Lucy is located in Rocklin. Her adoption fee is $250.
