What would you say, if you knew a dog so loving and tender towards children was relegated to living in an animal shelter for three whole years, and denied the joy of her own family?
How would you feel, if you knew that this same beautiful dog who was born into a horrific home ran away as a puppy into the unknown in search of a better life? A life without pain, neglect or rejection?
Would your heart break, if you understood the desperation in her soul; the yearning in her loving heart just to belong somewhere safe; to a family where she could give all the love she has to a child?
Could you turn your back on such a wondrous little creature? Well, plenty of people have turned their backs on our lovely Sophie. Everyday, she reaches out of her kennel with her paw to beg potential adopters to notice her. They don’t. You see, after three whole years at the shelter, living behind iron bars, beckoning strangers for a chance to prove how amazing she is, Sophie is losing hope . Month after month, year after long year, Sophie watches as other dogs find their forever homes, leaving her behind - alone and in despair.
Can you find it in your heart to give Sophie the life she so deserves? She doesn’t ask for much - she doesn’t care about the size of your home. All she wants is you, and hopefully, a child to devote herself to. You see, Sophie is the quintessential NANNY DOG - born to adore and protect the little ones. Her friends, shelter staff and volunteers, will not stop until we find her what she dreams of every night alone in her kennel. It’s a simple dream, but one that ‘til now eludes her. Sophie
is healthy, spayed, up-to-date with vaccines, and waiting for you. Although she gets along fine with other dogs, the shelter feels she has been too stressed out to share her life with other pets. So, she should be your one and only.
