My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Roscoe. I am hoping for my forever home with a family that would like a very energetic Jack and who can understand that I am just now getting used to being cared for and petted. I need a family that can keep me exercised and calm. My first family put me in a shelter because they were moving. They did not even do this for my other sibling dogs and cats – so sad.
Now, I am in a foster home at the age of 13. You would never know it as I act like I am 2! I can run and run, discover different scents on my walks and even give alarm to my foster mom and 2 other Jacks when someone comes to our house. I also bark when anyone leaves – coo coo, I know. I love to play with toys and can retrieve a ball quite well. I am a good eater and I am comfortable sleeping in my crate which comes with me when I am adopted.
I do have some health issues that are under control with meds – small seizures and a low thyroid. I haven’t had a seizure since my meds were regulated. My teeth were recently cleaned so my breath is pretty good!
I do play with my foster grandkids when they come, but I do not like being surprised or approached from behind – it scares me. My foster sibling Jacks are also a little bossy as they take my toys and bark at me. I would do best with a family with older children or none and with dogs that are calm.
I really am a sweet boy who is hoping for my forever home where I can be safe and happy for my remaining years.
