Mama's Story...
Mama's story is a sad one... She was placed on the euthanasia list immediately after arriving at County because of the shape she was in. This sweet girl was believed to have either been a bait dog or was mauled by a pack of dogs because she was in heat. Mama was completely shut down, however, after a few months in foster care she is a completely different dog! She had severe entropion and had to have surgery on both eyes. The vet thinks she is around 2 years old at this point. She is very athletic and loves to play by she is very gentle and will settle when you ask her to. She is crate trained, knows basic commands. She LOVES people but is dog selective. With a proper introduction and structure in the house she does well with other dogs. She has not been introduced to any cats so we do not know her temperament around them. Older children would probably be best for little Mama. She is now spayed, UTD on her vaccines, and microchipped. This little girl really needs a chance at a forever home and a second chance at life! Her scars tell a tale of misery, but her heart holds no grudges. Her adoption fee is just $50.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mama, a Phoenix Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
