Name: Racie
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier / Italian Greyhound
Gender: Spayed Female
Age: Approx. 12 mos in Dec ’14
Weight: Approx. 8 lbs (but needs to gain a few)
Energy Level: Medium – High (Puppy energy- running and playing or sleeping!)
Apartment Appropriate: Possibly, but does not yet walk well on a leash, so could be an issue
Good w/ Dogs Great with other small dogs! Larger dogs unknown.
Good w/ Cats: Has lived with cats and will try to play with them. :-)
Good w/ Kids: We think Racie might do well with calm kids over the age of 8 yrs. (She gets startled easily, so will not be a dog suited to rough play.)
Comments: Racie is new to our program, and we’re still learning about her. She was given up after her human mom and dad divorced, and nobody wanted to take full responsibility for Racie’s care. She is very thin at the moment, and needs to gain a few pounds before she’s at a healthy weight. We’re not positive about her breed background, but we can tell you she has legs for days and is cute, cute, CUTE! Racie is as sweet as pie and is 100% a velcro dog. She wants to be near her people as much as possible. She loves attention, and isn’t picky about who gives it to her- young, old, tall, short- she just wants love and lots of it. :-) She is doing very well with housebreaking, and if you don’t leave her out unattended, there shouldn’t be any long-term issues with accidents. She hasn’t yet learned to play with toys, but we’re hoping she will pick that up from her foster brothers and sisters. She has gotten along beautifully with the other small dogs she has met, and she has lived with cats. If you'd like to share your life with this precious girl, please fill out an application today!
