Sir Edmund Hillary's Story...
Sir Edmund is a senior at 11 years young but you would never know it. He is very active. He loves to fetch, can hike four miles at a time, and gets along with everyone and everything he meets. He is very protective of his home and car, and will bark if someone approaches either one. He likes to snuggle, loves a good butt scratch, and never gets tired of toys, bones, or love. He no longer likes to spend much time in the yard, going out only to potty or chase our GSD while she chases squirrels.
We have set his adoption fee rather high for a senior dog because we will only adopt him to someone who loves him as much as we do and we are prepared to keep him for the rest of his days. He needs active people who will keep him young and fit with regular exercise and mental stimulation.. If you would like to meet Sir Edmund, please fill out his online application at: www.secondchancesalem.org His adoption fee is $250.00.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sir Edmund Hillary, a Salem Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Salem, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
