My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Gracie and I am just about a 4 month old Nordic rescue baby!
I am a little shy and completely submissive in the home with my foster family … see you have to understand that I spend my first couple of weeks surviving on the streets of a Nordic reservation. Then a group of volunteers scooped me along with many others up and into cages we went to be sorted and then the long drive back to Montreal and then vetting and back to cages until a really nice volunteer from CAA Rescue came one afternoon to scoop me up and bring me to meet my new foster daddy.
Now I find myself in a home with my foster daddy and his doggies! I am very dog social and think that my new home ideally should have a home with another doggie there to show me the ropes! I do bark sometimes to get them to play with me but other than that right now I am very quiet and calm
While I am not fully house broken I will do my business outside taking my cue from my bigger foster bros and I recently started being clean over night. So if you adopt me and any accidents happen in your home please find a news paper, roll it up and spank your own bottom for not being mindful of my subtle signals!!! Also with the move to a new home I will have to start all over again with the house training regardless of the great strides I have made in such a short time with my foster daddy.
I walk really well on my leash right now but of course you will have to continue to show me how to be a good canine citizen as I grow and get bigger; continuing the training my foster daddy has started
While I have been left alone for a short period time I suffered from no anxiety and there was no destruction.
I have not been around any cats or children. I am very calm for a puppy and very eager to please my humans but please do not be put off if you come to visit me as I am shy. I am just not used to people being nice to me because on the reservation my mama taught me to stay away from people because some could be very mean… so this is just a learning curve that I am going through.
I am a typical baby – everything must be inspected with my mouth!!! I need a family who will take the time and be devoted to my training. Ideally at this time that family has no children under the age of 10 years old
I am a little nervous in the car, but again I am a baby and just not used to these things. The more you bring me out and socialize me now the more and more I will get used to all kinds of places, people and things! I am a blank slate and it is up to you to fill me up with all the good things a doggie should be
My foster daddy says I am as cute as a button and he is really loving having me around! I am having fun too and just to let you know I do make sleepy time on the bed with him so you will have to be prepared that I am not used to “non-snuggles” at night time.

To bring me home there will be adoption fee and a sterilization deposit fee. The adoption fee covers all my vetting: vaccinations including rabies, dewormings, spay and micro chip at Animal 911 vet in Roxboro; my new family will have to make the remaining visits. The sterilization deposit will be returned on the day that I get spayed at Animal 911. CAA Rescue is asking for this sterilization deposit to protect me and my future, to ensure I am happy, safe and healthy for all times with no making babies of my own one day. So if you have puppy training knowledge and would like to meet me in hopes of taking me home forever when I am ready to make the next big step in my life please email CAARescue@gmail.com and ask them for an application to meet me, Gracie!
