My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TONTO is an 18 month old neutered black male Lab who weighs 76 pounds.Tonto is easy going and laid back for a 18 month old pup. He enjoys being petted and to be with you. He likes to play with the kids especially hide and seek. They hide a ball or toy and he has to find it. Loves to swim both in the pool and in the river. He is tall and rangy and likes to get exercise. He would love a family that has a yard so he can get some exercise. He lived with a 5 & 8 year old. He has been around several younger children but hasn't lived with any. . He has been trained to respond to commands by a snap of her fingers then a voice and hand commands. After he learns one he responds to a finger snap and hand signals. He will have a list of commands and hand signals. Okay on lead , better with an easy walk. House and crate trained has the run of the house. Was crated when they left for several hours so he wouldn't get into trouble. Tonto is approved for kids aged 5+

Update (02/1): Tonto is a very sweet boy. He is definitely more laid back than the resident lab and he is also very loving. He is friendly to everyone in the house and follows his foster dad round everywhere. He doesn't seem to be familiar with walking on a leash, but has adapted very well using an Easy Walk Harness. He loves running around, so a fenced yard for him would be nice to burn his energy and stretch his legs. He hasn't seen the resident cat yet, but I would advise no cats for him since he tried to to chase a squirrel earlier today. Small, furry, fast things on four legs will probably only serve to entice him to give chase. He's great with the resident kids in the home and seems to gravitate towards them. He also takes treats gently and has great house manners. There have been no chewing incidents and no accidents. He was crated for a few hours and he did fine.
