My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trinket, a gorgeous little 2 year old, date of birth 5/16/13, black female Pomeranian was released from a puppy mill back in January, 2015. She only weighed 4 pounds and was quite delicate. She sprained her ankle the day she was rescued and had to wear a little tiny splint for a while but her ankle is all healed now. We think she must have been quite undernourished. Her foster mom had to keep a close watch to make sure she was eating because if she went without eating for more than 24 hours she would get ill. Her foster mom’s diligence paid off, she now weighs 5.7 pounds and was just recently spayed. Trinket was brought up to date on vaccinations in January when she was taken to the vet to have her ankle checked out and unfortunately, at that time, she tested very lightly positive for heartworms. This is being handled by keeping her on an Ivermectin based heartworm prevention until she tests negative for heartworms, which we feel pretty sure will occur when she is retested in January. Once she tests negative for heartworms, the adopter can change her to whatever type of heartworm prevention their vet recommends. Her foster mom feels that she will need a home where she will continue to be closely monitored to make sure she eats well and remains strong and healthy. If you would like to adopt this little princess and fill her life with goodness, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.

After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.

Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
