My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: All our Cupids are fostered in private homes. An approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Meet Loki!
Floki is a nearly three-month-old -- and ridiculously adorable! -- American Staffordshire Terrier mix. Like his namesake on the show "Vikings," this little guy is a trickster! He will thwart any attempt by his humans to do laundry, tie shoes, put on socks, etc., and look kissably cute while doing it!

He's a tiny boy, weighing in at less than 15 pounds, so it's anyone's guess how big he's going to get. He's learning basic manners and is working on potty training. This brave little guy sleeps all night in his crate without any crying or potty accidents.

Floki's foster mom (and anyone who meets him) says he's sassy, lovable and a cutie pie! He loves other dogs and can sometimes be a little stinker, but he's learning proper social skills thanks to the help of his canine foster siblings and resident senior dogs.

Because Floki was taken from his littermates and mom so early, we think he would do best in a home with another dog to help him continue learning proper doggie social etiquette. He's never met cats, but at this point most cats are bigger than him! He also will need a family dedicated to ongoing training and manners lessons.

Do you have room in your heart and home for our little trickster?

Floki's adoption fee is $350 and he's located in Milwaukee, WI. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it's most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they'll make good companions based on prospective adopters' lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed -- it's a complex mix of nature and nurture.
