My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brody! Brody is the cutest little 8 lbs. of sweetness! We believe he is a Chug (Chihuahua/pug mix). Brody is about 7 months old and weighs about 8 lbs. He should not get a whole lot bigger. Brody was rescued from Louisiana in a high kill shelter where he was going to be euthanized due to overcrowding.

Brody is extremely bonded with his little friend Perry. Both Perry and Brody are very social, friendly, outgoing, and just two little love-bugs! They are currently living together and will be adopted together. Perry and Brody are both housebroken and crate trained. Both are neutered and up to date on vaccines, as well as microchipped. Brody has to be treated for heartworm, and both boys will be kept together during the recuperation, as we intend for them to be adopted together due to their close bond. Perry is about a year old and is about 10 lbs., and is not expected to get any bigger. Perry is believed to possibly be a purebred Piebald (very rare) Dachshund, but because we do not DNA test, we are listing him as a mixed breed just to be on the safe side. Brody, a tan pug/chi mix, is about 8 lbs, and is estimated to be about 7 months old but will not get too much bigger. Both boys are super sweet, cuddly, and absolutely are inseparable! They are good with other dogs as well, but have not been tested with cats. We expect them to be fine with dog-friendly cats, however. Both have been around small children and did fine, but we caution folks with small children about adopting small dogs, due to how fragile little dogs are.

Brody will begin his heartworm treatment in early February and the pair will be adoptable in late March. There is no long-lasting effect of the heartworm treatments, and especially with Brody being so young, there is no reason he should not go on to live a long, full life, with his best friend Perry.

Perry and Brody will be available for an in-person meet and greet on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 11am - 2pm at the Unleashed by Petco store, 545 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD. Anyone interested in giving these two adorable friends a forever home together, please email MJsAnimalSanctuary@gmail.com. It helps us tremendously if you are able to get us a completed application prior to meeting them! Adopters are subject to reference checks, vet reference, home visit, meet and greet. Adoption fee applies.
