Abbey's Story...
Please meet Abbey (far right). Abbey was being surrendered to the shelter in Ripley, TN when we first met him. He was shoved in a tiny kennel, along with her 5 brothers and one sister. The woman surrendering them said, "Their mom's not interested in feeding them, and they aren't interested in eating, so here you go." We looked in the kennel and saw these terrified, adorable and clearly hungry puppies and we knew we could not, would not, leave them to die at the shelter.

We gladly grabbed that tiny kennel of puppies, put them in our car and headed directly to our vet in Memphis. Along the way, we opened a can of soft food and gave them a little water - and they ate like they had never eaten before. The woman was clearly not interested in feeding them, as they were certainly interested in eating.

The wonderful news we learned at the vet is that, other than being unvaccinated and hungry, they looked healthy. Their momma must have taken care of them. They received their first round of shots and off to foster homes they went. These puppies are funny and adorable little bundles of pure joy, if they had an unfair start in life, they certainly don't seem to remember it at all. Or perhaps Abbey knew just how bad she had it, and is happy to be safe, fed, loved with a soft warm bed to sleep in at night.

Abbey's adoption fee is $450 and will include vaccinations, spay surgery, microchip, health certificate and transportation from Memphis to you. Please email to receive an application for Abbey.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Abbey, a Rochester Boxer puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Rochester, or seeking a Boxer puppy from a breeder in Rochester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester paves the way for another one to be saved.
