My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB December 17, 2006.

Walter is a very relaxed cat. He loves taking long naps in the sun or next to you on the couch. He really loves being petted and brushed and he will remind you that his beautiful long coat needs a daily brushing. Walter is also a larger cat (but not fat), although smaller than a Maine Coon.

As Walter is an older cat with a white coat and blue eyes, he has poor hearing, poor eyesight, and balance issues, so he needs a quiet home where he won't be bothered by rambunctious family members or be snuck up upon and surprised.

His front paws have been declawed, so Walter can't defend himself, and he doesn't like to climb. He also likely has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which is not serious but affects his balance (he's a bit wobbly!). While he is fine around other cats, he'd prefer if they were calm. He currently has a very active foster brother who sometimes annoys him, but he rarely acts out. Walter has had some incidents where he doesn't use the litter box for solids: it could be stress related, or he might prefer more than one box.

Walter is very polite. He doesn't try to bully for food and is patient when it comes to meal time. Walter also can be a loud sleeper, making humming noises or tummy gurgling sounds. (Hearing those can be surprising at first!) He is a fan of playing with shoelaces. This sweet, laid-back boy will warm your home!

Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice appreciated, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.
