DOB January 2, 2014.
Maverick is a quirky, spirited little guy. He is beautiful -- he has a long, lean body and green eyes, and one long white whisker. (His foster parent suspects he might be a Russian Blue.) He likes human company and will greet you at the door when you arrive home and will stretch out and sleep next to you on the couch or your bed while you are watching TV or on the computer. He sleeps outside your bedroom door, waiting for you to wake up.
Although it might take him a few weeks to warm up to you, once he decides you're safe, he's pretty affectionate. He's still a little young to be a lap cat, but he may mellow into one with time. He does love sitting beside you. Sometimes if you are laying down he will come and lay on your stomach or your legs, and sometimes he even "holds" your hand by resting his paw on top.
Like many young cats, he has multiple personalities -- at times he is pretty chill, but he can also be very rambunctious and playful. He loves playing with toys, and would probably do well in a home with another feline companion to play with. He likes to crouch over his front paws and stick his butt up in the air as high as possible -- encouraging you to pet his lower back and tail, which he loves.
He also knows how to open sliding doors and drink out of the toilet. Oh, and it's a good idea to have a closed litter box for this guy, because he likes digging.
He sometimes gives love nips playfully when he is in that type of mood (other times he is super docile), so young children would need supervision when playing with him. He's also young enough to be trained out of this habit, though, and is not otherwise aggressive at all.
Maverick is a sweet, handsome guy who's ready to settle into his forever home.
