Mahi's Story...
Mahi is about 7 to 8 months old — still a teenager She is a beautiful, sweet, domestic shorthair - solid grey with white tuxedo markings. She is in the lobby cage of Port Royal Veterinary Hospital to up her resume.

She gets along with all the cats in her foster Mom’s house . . even the ones who don’t like her (LOL). She gets in her foster Mom’s lap, licks her chin, purrs loudly . . needless to say, very affectionate. She is also as playful as she is loving.

Mahi is looking for her forever family. If you think you are that family, complete the HAL Adoption application located on the Humane Association of the Lowcountry(HAL) web site. The URL is:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mahi, a Beaufort Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Beaufort, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Beaufort.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Beaufort already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Beaufort breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Beaufort paves the way for another one to be saved.
