My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Apply here at: http://welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/

Adorable Cooper is under a year old, but well behaved. Cooper is a perfect size - small enough to pick up comfortably at 18 pounds, but big enough to go on walks or hikes with his family. He is affectionate, loving, and smart as a whip. His foster mom reports that he is learning basic obedience skills very quickly. He loves playing with his canine foster siblings. He adores toys, sleeps very comfortably in a crate at night and his house trained. Cooper would be a perfect addition for an active person or family. He has an energy similar to Cocker Spaniels - playful and active, but not bouncing off the walls. He is still a puppy, so Cooper will need continued training as he transitions to a new home.

Cooper was originally found tied up and abandoned outside a vacation home in South Korea. He was rescued and cared for by a loving foster mom in Korea. She reports that Cooper also gets along well with cats. Mixed breed dogs have a very difficult time getting adopted in Korea. Mixed breed dogs often end up euthanized or sold in a dog meat shop, so a kind good samaritan sent Cooper to the United States to find his American Dream and a forever home. Cooper is a true joy! Please fill out an application, to see if Cooper is the right addition for your family.

Cooper's non-refundable adoption fee is $300. All dogs are fully vetted, microchipped, spayed or neutered and up to date with vaccinations, including rabies, DHPP and bordatella. The application is the first step before we can schedule a meet and greet.

Our adoption process looks like this:

1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized

Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
