Like his siblings, Dave is an open, confident, and incredibly loving little fellow who expects only good. We are impressed by Dave’s early capacity to link cause and effect - he is extremely responsive, and is learning to communicate his needs - he has even learned to give a quick bark when he needs to go outside to do his business. (We are not claiming that he is house trained - only that he is a quick learner.)
Dave has bright, alert eyes, and steady, open and trusting eye contact. He delights in all forms of interaction - especially cuddling and being held - and he tumbles about with his brothers with abandon, often inventing a game or initiating an adventure in which they all can join. He is curious, and we see in him a thoughtful intelligence and ability to problem solve.
Of course, these are lofty qualities to assign to a baby, and primarily, Dave is a happy go lucky, innocent puppy who adores his foster care providers, his brothers, and eating. Dave, like his brothers, is growing steadily, and he dashes about on his sturdy legs, exploring new ranges of motion, and all the wonders that each day holds. He is deservedly proud to have mastered stairs, and to have conquered the challenges that snow presents to a chubby and somewhat short-legged puppy. He has bravely overcome his first concerns about vacuum cleaners, and wriggles with delight when treats appear to reward his many and various achievements in life.
Dave will offer faith and love to his committed adopters.
Hedgesville Hounds requires a securely fenced yard for puppies, and we are not recommending these puppies for placement in a home with children under the age of 10. The $250 adoption fee will cover Dave’s booster shots, rabies, and his neuter when he is 6 months of age.
