Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dottie is a funny, sweet girl who found herself in a Houston-area shelter, dropped off there by her family for unknown reasons. Thankfully the shelter contacted our rescue group and we were able to save her life!
This darling 7-yr old beagle lady is a tad bit chunky at 27 pounds on a 13 inch frame, but she loves to explore the yard and go for nightly walks with her foster family, so she has already lost a few pounds with diet and exercise, and has a few more to go!
Dottie still is in touch with her inner puppy. She has gotten into shelves of books that were just too tempting, but usually has good house manners. She is housebroken, crate- and dog-door trained, and sleeps quietly all night and into the morning until invited to get up. In fact, we rarely hear a peep (or a bark) from her for any reason.
Little Dottie gets along well with the other members of her foster beagle pack and will join them on a chase after a squirrel, but does not really care to play with them. She can usually be found hanging out on a dogbed near to one of the human members of the family, so she would not mind being the "only" dog in the household. Her main trait is her loyalty, and if you need a best friend you could not find a better one.
To meet Dottie or one of the other dogs from our organization, please go to www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org and click on the link "About Adoption." The FIRST step in the adoption process is to complete the online application to adopt.
