Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB October 1, 2006
Big Al is a sweet gentle guy who came into foster care as a stray. He was morbidly obese, but with a loving foster home and a portion controlled diet, while staying active, he's slimmed down quiet a bit. When he arrived he measured 26" around his waist. With portion control he has slimmed down 3 1/2" inches but still has a way to go. Despite this he is healthy and has no mobility or grooming issues.
Big Al is an introvert. He likes to be where things are happening with people or other cats, but stays in the background. He has outbursts of playful energy where he charges around with a toy in his mouth and has a very exciting time!
Big Al will let you know when it is time to eat by standing by your chair and gently patting you. He has a strong interest in human food-particularly junk food. He loves a good brushing and gets excited by a laser pointer.
.
It is a terrible mystery how Big Al became a stray. He has a very calm spirit. The other cats in his foster home seek out Big Al to quietly sit and sleep with. Big Al is never a bully or hostile to other cats, even when they are jerks pushing HIS boundaries.
Big Al seems like he would easily fit into a multi-cat household with other friendly, mature cats.Big Al is too big to fit into an average sized lap, and will tolerate getting picked up but doesn't love it. I think he would love a somewhat quiet but fun home. He likes to have his own chair, by the way.
Thank you for welcoming a senior cat into your family - an adoption fee of your choice appreciated, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.
