Cookie's Story...
Name: Cookie
Sex: Male
Age: 3 year
Color: Tri

Cookie has lots of scars and his ears have been torn and healed. He is rough looking. We are told he does not get along well with other males. This poor guy is very scared and will need extra adjustment time.

The shelter has acquired 14 Rat Terriers and will be receiving more. These animals came from a local breeder who has become overwhelmed and has came to us for help. These dogs have been loved and like to be carried but are not considered socialized. They are accustomed to being in a crate and being let out daily. The shelter has given them a combo shot and bordatella, worming, and trimmed their nails. They were marked with pink marks for identification. Call The Humane Society serving Crawford County at 419-562-9149 about adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Bucyrus Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Bucyrus, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Bucyrus.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bucyrus already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bucyrus breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bucyrus paves the way for another one to be saved.
