My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Envy: If you love the combination of big and strong with gentle and mushy, then you are going to want to met this dog. He came from a home with small kids and other dogs and has such a phenomenal temperament that he often spends time with us in the lobby of the shelter because he is one of those dogs who can handle hustle and bustle without issue--even seeming to soak it all in and enjoy it. ( watch the video and you will see him observing calmly all the chaos).

He is a smart dog and is sadly aware of the situation he is in which means when he spends time with us, it is meaningful and he makes sure you know how much he appreciates every second of human companionship….but maintains his very relaxed affectionate personality and does not overwhelm you.

When in the yard, Envy is actually a graceful big dog who can play fetch with skill, precision, and extraordinary etiquette, dropping the ball and waiting for the next throw. He has been known to lay on your lap and fall asleep after a game of fetch which makes the kennel life very hard on this gentle giant because he is so clearly so connected to humans.

Outside of the dogs he has lived with, Envy has shown us that he is curious but uncomfortable with the other dogs in the shelter but we feel that he could enjoy the companionship of a very mellow female dog and would be up for arranging a meet and greet for this. This guy is a take to work kind of dog because once he lays down and gets comfortable, he is cool as a cucumber, wagging his tail every time he hears his name but not jumping up or getting over-excited with every coming and going.

His loyalty is palpable, his intelligence is strong, his manners are impeccable, and he will make a fantastic dog for an individual or family. He is SOOOOO ready to get out of his cement kennel and into a warm home, come meet him today!
