Misty Blue had been with the same family her entire life. However, her owner fell on hard times, lost her job, and had to move, so she made the difficult decision to find a new home for Misty Blue. This girl is an absolute sweetheart! She was born without tear ducts, so her original owner took her to UC Davis to have a surgery that rerouted her salivary glands to her eyes in order to save her eyesight as well as her eyes. We took her to UC Davis for a recheck on her eyes/eyesight. The visit revealed that her eyes are in great shape. She will need to have her eyes cleaned with a warm, wet washcloth daily – and she enjoys this spa treatment! She will also need daily eye drops/ointment, which is over the counter and inexpensive. In addition, she was very thin when she came into rescue. We had her blood tested and all was normal, so she has a clean bill of health in other ways. Misty Blue does fine with larger dogs, but gets frustrated with the activity level of small dogs. Therefore, she should be placed in a home with dogs more her size. She is tolerant and does fine with children and loves to play with her toys! Misty Blue is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Fostered in Castro Valley.
