Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This fine gentleman is Bert, the second half of a Bert and Ernie pair of handsome Flat Coated Retriever mixes who found themselves in a rural TN shelter for almost 4 months; such a long time for any dog to spend in those awful places. Well they are out, and now Bert is looking for a home all his own. This young boy is a loveable 2 year old, who weighs around 65 pounds. If you know anything about Flat Coat Retrievers then you know what an amazing temperament they have; kind, laidback and very friendly. True to form, when Bert is walking on his leash, he will stop and sit down anytime his foster stops walking. He then looks up waiting for a head scratch or a "good boy" endorsement. What a perfect dog to take to the beach or a downtown sidewalk stroll or on the trail to enjoy the great outdoors! When Bert is indoors he will stay right beside his person, and when he feels lonely and in need of some reassuring love, he will lay his head or paw on your leg. He is great with other dogs, cats and children. If you are looking for a big dose of love, warmth and a very devoted best friend then look no further. This great guy has plenty to share!
