My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our foster dogs live as family members in the foster home until chosen for adoption.

Hi, my name is Lucy.

I was found as a stray, wandering the streets trying to find a place to live. I am glad I am at the shelter because it means that I have a roof over my head and I don't have to search for my next meal but I really want a real home with a family. Do you have room in your heart and your home for me??

I am a young lady, somewhere around three years old and I weigh around 30 pounds. I have already been spayed, given my basic shots, microchipped, and am heartworm negative.

This is what my foster mom has to say about me "Lucy is a great dog, very loving and well behaved. She follows commands like sit, down, off. She walks beautifully on a leash. She stays in a crate during the day and to sleep. She enjpys walks at the park.

Lucy passed the test at Camp Bow Wow to stay for day care and overnight care, and stayed there for five days while I was out of town. The folks at Camp Bow Wow said she was the perfect lady.

Lucy has all her shots (rabies, distemper, bordetella) and had no health issues in her physical required for the vaccinations. She weighed around 45 pounds and behaved perfectly for the veterinarian.

Lucy was at the shelter for 10 months. I met her when I was volunteering and recognized that she was a great dog because she listened to commands and was loving even at that first meeting. She is so grateful to be in a home. She gives me kisses when I let her (she is not a pest about it). She loves to run in the backyard and take walks. She loves to sit on a blanket or towel and spends much time arranging it to her liking. Imagine how she felt on the concrete floor of the shelter for all that time."
