My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

As soon as we brought Shellie home to foster, we knew that she was a going to be a fun dog to foster. She is a curious dog and likes to check things out. We gave her a bed to sleep in and soon found it filled with the dog toys we had for her. She is a lovable, cuddly, adoring member of the family and we hope she becomes yours!
Shellie is house broken, but you need to pay attention to clues that she needs to go out. She might come over, stand in front of you and look at you, or she may bark. We recommend getting a large, soft bed for her because she will sleep in it all night and often sits in it during the day for a nap! We also use a cage or a crate for her to go into if we leave the house. We have been using one that is about 20”x30” metal type cage crate, but the next size up might be better as she grows. She likes to cuddle, so a nice warm fleece or dog bed inside it would be perfect. We keep our crate in our large kitchen and leave the door to the crate open during the day so she can go in and out if she pleases!
She LOVES to run around outside, but she is very inquisitive and will need to be watched so she does not go near the road. If you plan on taking her on walks, she will need some coaxing to go with her leash on as she is not 100% used to being attached to a tether. We take her to a local dog park where she runs around playfully with other dogs without incident from her. She runs around for 20 minutes or so until she tires out. It is fun to watch her play and react with other dogs…she enjoys that a lot.
Her absolute FAVORITE thing is to be petted and to cuddle on the floor or on a couch! Shellie is truly an attractive, loving, and AWESOME dog!!! We will be sad to see her go, but we know that with a little training and familiarization with a new home she will be a perfect canine member of your family!

For non-MA adopters, the adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.

If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between noon and 2pm. An additional $75 fee will be added for puppies picked up from our Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. MA residents are no longer allowed to adopt from our adoption center or our adoption events due to MA regs. All MA adoptions must be finalized prior to the puppy leaving our care in TN.
