My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grizzly is a big sweetheart. He has been a great dog to have around the house and has all the qualities of a great family pet. He loves to play, is full of affection and can’t wait to meet his forever home. Grizzly is well behaved in the home, quiet and happy-go-lucky in his dealings with everyone. He is a gentle, playful boy would would fit into just about any family situation. He is a wonderful family pet. Grizzly is approximately 3 - 4 years old and currently weighs 42 lbs.

Here is what else his foster family had to say:

Grizzly is a really loving dog who wants nothing more than be around people. He loves to fill his kennel with all of his toys, and at times a stray sock. He has marking on his side that looks just like a heart. He is an extremely friendly dog, and is a wonderful pet. I would guess Grizzly to be around 3 years of age based on his energy level and how well he has been house trained. I would describe his energy level as moderate. He likes to be part of everything, but so long as he gets enough walks he is relatively calm within the house.

Grizzly is extremely friendly, both one on one and in large groups of people. He has had minimal time around children but when walking around them he has remained calm and friendly. He has shown no signs of shyness, and just enjoys being right in the mix of things. He has been in homes with other dogs and they got along fine. With cats, they took to higher ground but he appeared fine with their presence in their house and lost interest in them pretty quick.

Grizzly will be at the National Adoption Weekend at Pet Valu, Ancaster on Feb. 8th from 2pm - 4 pm)

Grizzly is well behaved in the home. There have been no issues with chewing things he shouldn’t. He might try and snag a sock or two but no chewing. Minimal counter surfing and no issues with stealing food.
Although he does bark when I first leave the house it is short lived and he is fine left for a normal working day without issues. I live in an apartment complex and there have never been any issues with noise. His favourite things to do are to play with his toys in the house, chew on his bones, go to the dog park, and general play time. He knows how to sit, and will come when called. We have been working on shake a paw and lie down. He is fully house trained. There have been no accidents in the kennel, and so long as he is walked he will go outside. He won’t usually go to the door to let you know, so you need to remember to take him out. He is fully crate trained. He is in the crate for approximately 9 hours during the day. There is no excessive chewing (blankets) in the kennel, and he appears happy when I come home. He is leash trained. He will pull a little at first, if he hasn’t been out for a while, but is easy to walk. In the car he likes to be up front, and may whimper a bit at the beginning. On longer car rides he will settle in and goes to sleep in the back.

Grizzly is a big sweetheart. He has been a great dog to have around the house and has all the qualities of a great family pet. He loves to play, is full of affection and can’t wait to meet his forever home. I think that Grizzly would do great in a family setting or with a younger person. He is still pretty energetic and loves to play so I think it would be a good fit. A yard for him to play in would also be ideal as he likes to let loose once in a while. Overall he is a great dog who would fit in with any home situation.

If you would like to add this sweet boy to your family pack, please submit an application for consideration.
