My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Come Meet Me! - Sunday, Feb 8th from 12 - 2 pm at Pet Valu, Ancaster

Shadow is a very sweet, young girl who is gentle and loving. She has been learning her basic commands and is an intelligent girl, picking up on things quickly. She will be an all around great family pet. She is friendly with everyone and would be a great candidate for a first time dog owner that would like to take obedience classes. Shadow is over most of the puppy stages but still needs further training and socialization to help her grow into a capable and confident companion. Shadow is approximately 9 mos old and currently weighs 20 lbs.

Here is what her foster parents had to say:

Shadow is a sweet, well behaved, intelligent little girl. She is very gentle with everyone and responds well to positive reinforcement and praise. She is a very calm puppy and appears to be very healthy with a lovely coat. Shadow is very friendly with everyone she meets and is very patient with young children. There is not an aggressive bone in her body and she does not have any kind of prey drive. She gets along well with everyone including other dogs and would probably be fine with cats in the home. She is very responsive to her people and will make a wonderful family pet for just about any situation.

Shadow is very well behaved and quiet in the home. She is intelligent and picks up on things quickly. She is learning all of her basic obedience and now knows "sit", "come", and "drop it". She is now leash trained and walks well on leash. She is fully house trained and is able to let you know when she needs to go out. She is crate trained but she doesn't like it and probably in her new home she won't need to be crated. It would still be a good idea to keep her blocked in one area in the home until you can be sure that she can be fully trusted but I don't think anyone will have a problem with this girl. She does cry when we leave the home although she is generally very quiet in the house.

Shadow loves a good game of tug-o-war or playing fetch and would be idea for kids that would like to play with her. She would enjoy a backyard to romp around in and other dog friends to play with. As she is still a young girl it would be best if there were someone home more often than not however she can be left for a normal working day with no real issues. If there were children in the home for her to interact with or another friendly dog as a companion, all the better however, I do think Shadow would fit well into just about any home environment. She is always willing to do whatever you ask of her and enjoys being with her people doing whatever you want her to do. She is a great size and is very in tune with her family.

She is a very family friendly dog that is very willing and patient. She would fit well into any dog loving family.

If you would like to make Shadow a part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
