Dutchess's Story...
Hello, my name is Dutchess and the handsome, dark boy in the other picture is Cricket, my companion for many years. We wanted to tell you a little bit about ourselves, in hopes someone out there in cyber world is looking for two MATURE dogs to love. Cricket and I are 9 years young... We know our chances of finding a forever home are not good. Maybe separately the chance would be better but Cricket and me, we come as what they call a "bonded pair". You see, I'm very dependent on Cricket to feel safe and secure. I'm shy around people I don't know, where Cricket loves just about everybody. Some people say we need to be split up but I'm not going anywhere without him.

We had a owner that loved us but she was sick and older, like us. While she was trying to get well, we have been boarding for almost 2 years. Yes, that is a long time. About 6 months ago our owner went to heaven. Nobody was left to care for us, so we are still here, waiting for somebody to love us. We don't require much. A roof over our head, maybe a yard so we can lay in the sun. The nice doctor at Chase said he would always pay for us to be vaccinated and other medical needs we may have in the future.

So, all we need now is you. Yes, one of you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dutchess, a Huntsville Retriever (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Huntsville, or seeking a Retriever (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Huntsville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Huntsville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Huntsville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Huntsville paves the way for another one to be saved.
