Chesnut's Story...
Chesnut is the cutest and happiest little guy on this side of the country and he's patiently waiting to find his forever family! He is currently located at the Del Norte County shelter in Crescent City, CA.

Chesnut is a young (possibly 2-3 year old) mixed breed dog, with possibly some blockhead breed mixed with some other cute blockhead breed. Either way, Chesnut will surely wiggle his way into your heart. He is young and could use a family who could devote some time to some positive and fun training with him to help him learn a few more manners. But this boy is always happy and ready for any adventure that life brings him, he loves absolutely everyone! He would make a great partner for someone who loves the outdoors or just someone who loves to go on a nice walk around the neighborhood and curl up on the couch afterwards. If you are interested in adopting Chesnut, please contact Del Norte County Animal Shelter today!

Born Again Pit Bull Rescue regularly works with the wonderful people at the Del Norte County Animal Control located out in rural Crescent City, CA (a coastal city on the OR/CA border). They have a very small shelter with small indoor 3x6 kennel runs, low foot traffic, odd adoption viewing hours and it rains a lot which means the dogs can’t come outside and play.

We want you to see some really great dogs that they have in their care--it's just a 2-hour drive from Medford to adopt your new BFF!

Del Norte County Animal Control is located in Crescent City, CA. They are open Monday & Friday from 8am to 5pm. They are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chesnut, a Portland American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog for sale in Portland, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/American Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
