My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~ Reduced Compassionate Adoption Fee Applies email caarescue@gmail.com ~

My name is Junior – it is the name my family put on the paperwork when then decided one day after 13 years that they did not want me anymore.

Into the pound I went and I was terrified there! The hearts of volunteers at the pound broke in pieces the day they saw me left there … just discarded by my family like I was some old used up chair. The volunteers immediately moved me to a shelter environment which is obviously better than a municipal pound but still a scary place for little man like me.

That is where I met CAA Rescue! Even though I am 13 years old and they know taking a dog in at this age is really hard for a rescue as there is the potential that I will stay with them for a long time; not many people want to adopt a senior but seriously folks as a mini poodle I still have got another 6 to 8 years of life in me to go which by big doggie standards is a whole doggie life! Obviously my last family thought 13 years was too long to be with one dog … I wonder if they went out that very same day to get a puppy and start this vicious cycle all over again!

If you are concerned about my health and potential future vetting well at this time I can tell you I am in A One Shape! My teeth are awesome and they were recently descaled to remove some mild tartar. The rest of me is completely spry! And when the weather warms up I wonder which one of you will have the energy to keep up with me! I am not a fan of winter and being outside so I use pee pads in doors usually but I do venture out into the back yard now and again as well … I have to relearn everything in foster care so sometimes I make a mistake. If you choose to adopt me you will have to be patient while I am extremely smart I have being doing it one for 13 years!!!! Anyone who was used to life one way for 13 years and then had that life flipped upside down would make a couple of mistakes too!

In foster care I have small dog, medium dog and one super huge big doggie as friends. I get along great with all of them
I also live with cats in foster care with no issues.

I like staring out the window watching the world go by! Foster mummy has a big window and it is like my own personal TV that is always playing my favorite show!

I am a typical mini poodle in that I am fussy about EVERYTHING! And if I was female you would be calling me a Diva! I am not too shy to beg nor take what I want. Seriously this cute face gets away with murder … which is also part of the problem. For 13 years I got away with sometimes being a real jerk and no one ever spent the time to correct me or teach me that this way of being was absolutely unacceptable. Foster mummy has put me into boot camp training … I am not liking it or her very much right now but she refuses to leave me in a state where I believe I have the right to snap at people with my teeth! Everyone agrees with her except for me of course!

See I think I am only really learning how to be a doggie for the first time in my life! Not some fashion accessory but a real dog! And while everything is confusing for me right now and I am fighting foster mama every step of the way I think I secretly like being a dog! But shhhhhhhhhh don’t tell my foster mama that! No way am I gonna let her think she is winning this battle ;)

The volunteers at CAA Rescue including my foster mama think it is really important for my next family to have experience with small dog syndrome because that is what they think I have. Basically it has to be my way and if not my way I will snap at you. I have not bitten anyone in foster care but for this reason a home with no children is a must! Besides my poor bedside manner I think I am just too old to be dealing with the high intensity and activity of children. So one who is active and likes to walk but someone who likes to chill on the couch in the afternoon and watch Dr Phil! I do like to watch TV quite a bit and have already adopted foster mama’s older son; I like hanging out with him – he is pretty chill and calm. I like people who are like that

I have not been left alone for any extended period of time but again the diva in me has the potential to be pretty darn vocal so probably best that I am not in an apartment, I would not want to get my family in trouble and have to move again

The move from my foster home to my new family’s home has to be my last one
So please look past the cuteness that is ME because yes I am beyond freaking adorable! I need you to see me for me! For who I really am on the inside! I am sweet and cuddly – I am bossy! I like to do things my way but I want you to be there with me; doing everything with me!

If you are reading this and your heart is melting for me please write to CAARescue@gmail.com and tell them how we were always meant to be, they will quiz you and ask you to complete an application for adoption please be patient with them as they love me very much and just want to be sure that the next family I have is my real and true forever home, one that won’t give me up ever again No MATTER WHAT!
