My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~ adoption fee and sterilization deposit applies email caarescue@gmail.com ~

My name is Nanuk and I am just about a 4 month old Nordic rescue baby!
I am an extremely affectionate and sweet puppy with humans! I am a little shadow to my foster mummy and follow her everywhere she goes!

I am completely submissive with the humans in my foster family home … see you have to understand that I spend my first couple of months surviving on the streets. Then a group of volunteers scooped me along with many others up and into cages we went to be sorted and then the long 18 hour drive back to Montreal and back to cages until a really nice volunteer from CAA Rescue came one early morning to scoop me up and bring me to my foster mummy!

So now I find myself with people and doggies living in a home; it is rather bizarre for me but I am enjoying it! I am pretty good for a puppy in one sense as I am not barky or mouthy which a puppy at this age usually is however I am totally NOT house trained and freely make a peepers whenever and wherever I need too! I am pretty lucky that I have a very patient foster family because some people forget quite quickly that puppies need training. So I absolutely need a family that is familiar with house training a puppy
So if any accidents happen in your home please find a news paper, roll it up and spank your own bottom for not being mindful of my subtle signals!!! Also with the move to a new home I will have to start all over again with the house training regardless of the great strides I have been making with my foster family.

I sleep in my crate right next to my foster mummy’s bed. I kind of like it in there now and feel safe, plus I am so close to my foster mummy I can hear her breathing & shhhhhhhhhh don’t tell anyone but sometimes she snores too! :) I am quiet and will sleep the night through

I am a puppy though so I completely run around like a madman and then take a nap; I wake up pee and poo and get into more nonsense, eat something, poo again and then another nap!

I think I am going to be a big boy! At 4 months of age I am already 30lbs so CAA Rescue thinks I will be well over 60lbs when I reach adulthood with a big furry and beautiful coat! So if you are looking for one of those non shedding type of doggies please click next because that is never ever gonna be me!

I am not vocal as of yet but that could be just because I have not found my bark yet ;)
I need to be socialized more with other dogs; now is the time for me to learn to interact with them. Currently in foster care I am living with two other dogs and I am a little pushy and a bit of a hoarder when it comes to anything concerning them. I am exerting dominance over older and much larger dogs than I so now is really the time to work on that with me; to show me this is not proper doggie etiquette

There are no cats in my foster home but I was tested at the shelter with cats before coming into foster care at CAA Rescue. I was friendly with them but of course that is no guarantee on how I will react to a cat in your home

I need a family who will take the time and be devoted to my training to teach me how to be an awesome canine citizen. Ideally at this time that family has no children under the age of 10 years old. I deserve all the attention and free time you have available. I am friendly enough with them so there is no concern there but what I need is devoting not someone splitting their time between work, babies, loved one and then me.

I am a little nervous in the car, but again I am a baby and just not used to these things. The more you bring me out and socialize me now the more and more I will get used to all kinds of places, people and things! I am a blank slate and it is up to you to fill me up with all the good things a doggie should be

To bring me home there will be adoption fee and a sterilization deposit fee. The adoption fee covers all my vetting: vaccinations including rabies, three different dewormings, neuter and micro chip at Animal 911 vet in Roxboro; my new family will have to make the remaining visits. The sterilization deposit will be returned on the day that I get neutered at Animal 911. CAA Rescue is asking for this sterilization deposit to protect me and my future, to ensure I am happy, safe and healthy for all times with no making babies of my own one day. So if you have puppy training knowledge and would like to meet me in hopes of taking me home forever when I am ready to make the next big step in my life please email CAARescue@gmail.com and ask them for an application to meet me, Nanuk!
