Here's what the humans have to say about me:
5 year old Luke needs to find a new home through no fault of his own. Luke is a special needs dog as his knee caps are dislocated and attached to the inside of his rear legs (probably happened when he was a puppy) and surgery at this time is not recommended (though could be necessary in the future - - - or maybe not). According to Dr. Walker, top canine orthopedic specialist, Luke stands a good chance of living his life "as is" - with his back legs bowed, but very serviceable to him as he has learned to compensate very well. But, an injury (slipping on ice or slick floors, bruising a knee cap, etc) could mean surgery - and a lengthy rehabilitation. Luke needs to live in a house with minimal steps, carpeted or mostly carpeted floors (to avoid the chance of an injury), and though he needs exercise - his exercise should be controlled (leash walking would be great - or time in a fenced in yard). Because of Luke's special needs, it is recommended that he be placed in an adult home or a home with older or less active children. If you would like to open your heart and home to Luke, please submit an application which you can find on our website. Can't adopt right now - but would still like to help Luke? Please be his angel - - - - and help sponsor his veterinary costs, and daily living costs until he finds that special home he so deserves.
