My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocket is a Miniature Pinscher, about 2 years old and weighs about 12 lbs. He is housetrained most of the time. He was fearful when he initially came into rescue but is now settling down although he is still fearful, and even a little aggressive, with strangers. He is crate trained and loves his walks and the park. He does bark at other dogs when they pass by but he is improving with training. If a dog is in the home with him he can play all day long with them. He has great energy, is increasing in confidence by the day, and would do well with another companion dog in the home and the firm hand of an experienced owner. He is great at following directions. He stops at street corners and knows SIT and DROP. Don't let his energy fool you, he is a lap dog at heart. Rocket is very smart, independent and likes his toys.He responds well to positive reinforcement and treat training. He is fine being left alone and is an angel in his crate. Generally he is a joy to be around but he does need help in circumstances which challenge him. Rocket was caught by a Good Samaritan who had found him wandering around the streets for about a week. We believe he was dumped. Be warned that he is an escape artist and needs a very secure outdoor area or he'll find a way to get out of it.
