My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Taser is an 9-month old, 10 pound male shih-tzu, poodle mix. He has spent most of his life in a cage in a garage up to the time he came to the rescue. He had a little boy to love him, but the boy’s Mom was too busy to for Taser. The cage in the garage was where he spent most of his time.
Luckily the cage wasn’t a very good one. Taser kept getting out and going to a neighbor’s house. It was the neighbor who called us when the mother announced to the little boy that he had better say “good by” to his dog, because it would “disappear” in the morning.
The mother happily gave us Taser, saying they were going to buy a German Shepherd…sigh!
Taser is very bright, learning his new name in about two days. He wasn’t house broken (of course) but is doing well. He didn’t have accidents in the house after about the first two weeks, but we do have dog doors, so he can go when he needs to. Taser is very anxious to be a friend to our other dogs and anyone who comes to the house.
He is learning manners, like waiting his turn for a treat, how to “stay” (a little). He is also becoming very good at “sit”. He is a big snuggler, and will curl up anyplace he can find a niche in your legs or arms while you sit on the couch.
As you can see in the video, Taser dearly loves Rocko, another rescue staying with us. That is actually one of the reasons we are trying to find him a home quickly. Rocko is still a puppy, too, and although he plays gently with Taser, has accidentally hurt him a couple of times. We need to find Taser a home with dogs (or cats) his own size.
