My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Tito! He is a handsome 9 year old white English bulldog with brindle markings. This sweet fellow came to us after he was found as a stray on Christmas day. He was micro chipped, and his owners were called… but they did not want him back. So here he is with us, getting the love and care he deserves!

Tito is a companion dog looking for his furever home. He likes to be by you, but is not clingy or intrusive. He respects your space. Tito loves long walks at least twice a day. He is very routine-oriented, and hopes he can find owner(s) who are consistent with his daily activities. Tito will always let you know when he needs to go out by going to the door and standing there. He gets along just fine with children and other animals. However, he can get really, really excited and he doesn’t know his own strength: so he asks that only adults walk him, and that any children in the house be 12 years old and above. He is fine going up stairs, but has a lot of trouble on his way down. He wants to be in a home where stairs aren’t part of his daily routine. Though he’s a companion dog, he does not mind time to himself. Tito finds solace in his crate - He sleeps in it every night and stays in it when his foster mom isn’t home. Tito hopes you have a heart half as big as his and will consider giving him what he wants most: true, unconditional love for the rest of his days.

When Tito came into BBR’s care he was severely underweight and had terrible skin and ears due to allergies. One of the ways we’ve rectified these situations is by putting him on a grain-free diet. **Please note, even though he has the sweetest puppy eyes: you should NEVER give Tito any food/treats/etc. other than his food.** It will only hurt his progress, and he has come such a long way. Additionally, Tito has hygiene and medicine regimens that must be maintained. He will be on 50mg of Benadryl in the morning and evening for the rest of his life. (It helps so much with his itchy, irritated skin.) Don’t worry: he’s a pro at swallowing pills. Tito also gets his ears flushed nightly… He hated it when we first started, but now he stays still. Besides his grain-free food, one of the greatest game-changers for his now beautiful coat was medicated baths. He receives two weekly: on Wednesdays and Sundays, each with a different shampoo. He is very much used to water and is such a good boy during his baths. Tito has a few “hot spots” that are still healing: a topical cream called Zymox is applied to said spots daily. Last but not least, Tito has a grade 4 heart murmur. His vet said that unfortunately, because of this, anything could happen and there are no guarantees. The heart murmur is also the reason we are asking that Tito go to a home without other animals. Although he benefits well from his daily walks, he should refrain from becoming overly exciting and playing too hard, especially with other dogs. The heart murmur is the other reason we are asking that children be 12 and older.

All in all, Tito is a wonderful guy with a fantastic temperament, and he is sure to make someone very happy! He is neutered, up to date on shots, and housetrained. Please consider opening up your heart and giving Tito his loving furever home!
