Fedora is a small or pocket Beagle weighing 16 lbs. She is 4 years old and has a typical Beagle disposition; happy and inquisitive. When rescued from a shelter, Fedora was thin with bad skin. Now this petite beauty is blossoming with a handsome build and soft, healthy coat. Fedora is playful, likes to be busy playing or chewing on a bone, gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and even chickens. Her big brown eyes and pleading expression invite petting or playing, along with her whole body tail wag. This smart girl learned to use the doggie door first day in her foster home. Fedora loves being outside, exploring and sunning, but will need a wood fence as she is a climber and a digger, probably how she wound up as a stray. However, her foster home has a wire fence and Fedora has not attempted, does not seem to want to leave her interim home. For safety's sake, she is crated when everyone has to leave for any amount of time and she does exceptionally well. Indoors, Fedora is a climber as well, likes to snooze in high places, like on the back of the couch, in a chair, in the window seat, and she'll surf a table unless you tell her "no." At night time, she zonks out and sleeps all night wherever in the house she pleases. Foster mom thinks she's made of rubber because when picked up Fedora gets very limber. In the morning when she realizes Mom's awake, she hops in bed and wraps herself around Mom's head where she meets Fedora's sweet face at every turn. She bays when she plays but is otherwise quiet. This sweet girl is desperate to please, looking for foster mom to notice her no matter what she is doing, in tune to her human. She is submissive, offering her belly when approached. Fedora is hand shy and cowers a bit, so will need time to learn that hands only offer loving. Typical of this breed, she is a food hog, but right now that's not a bad thing because she still needs to beef up her skinny self.
