If you have a soft spot for Shipoos (aka Shih Tzu x Poodle), then you might just have what it takes to become Nicko’s new family. He misses having his own home and would love to share his life with the right people. Nicko, along with his brother Pompom, were given up because they were not housebroken. Small breeds are notoriously difficult – but not impossible – to toilet train. It didn’t help that the two boys were not sterilized and were marking over each other; now that they are neutered the situation should improve. So Nicko needs a home that is willing to be patient, vigilant, and use positive reinforcement for the time it takes to understand what is expected of him. It is not always an easy fix, it may take several weeks. Whoever adopts Nicko should definitely familiarize them self with the umbilical cord method of toilet training. Nicko is an intelligent dog who is more than capable of mastering the art of peeing outside! Of course he will need a home where he is not alone the entire day.
