My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE - 5 MARCH 2015: Shy, little Wilson has been with me now for 5 days. He is so darn cute - plays with toys and loves hanging out with my other two dogs and two cats, especially my other beagle, Dante. Wilson is like Dante's sidekick and follows his lead. All three dogs go to the bathroom together outside in my back yard (Wilson has only had one accident in the house). Wilson and Dante play together, and my 11-year-old dachshund even joins in occasionally. When I am home, Wilson likes to hang out in whatever room I am in. His tails wags constantly, and he loves having his head scratched. Wilson does startle easily and needs some leash training, but right now I am just working on getting him comfortable with the routine. I can tell his young life has been focused on getting whatever food he can find. He is a bit of a pig when it comes to eating, so I separate him from the others. I don't know if Wilson would do well with young kids who go after him. He is trying hard to be social, but too much human stimulation and noise seems to scare him. That may be why he hid under the table at the last BREW event. Right now, I think Wilson would do best in a home with another dog and no small children, although that might change as Wilson gets used to being around humans and human routines.

UPDATE - 8 FEBRUARY 2015: Wilson, Doug, and Emerson are all very friendly now. I guess once they realized that I was going to feed and be affectionate with them and not send them away they realized people can be good!

1 FEBRUARY 2015: Wilson is one of three very skinny, male beagles who came to BREW after hanging around a Virginia farm for a month. They had apparently been relying on a deer carcass for food and were initially shy, but warmed right up after they were given a good meal and shelter!

Wilson is fairly small, estimated to be 6-8 months old, and will be vetted soon. He is friendly and great with other dogs. All three show no food aggression at all and will eat out of the same bowl if allowed to do so.
