Evan's Story...
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. See contact information below.

Evan is a 7-year-old neutered Chihuahua mix who weighs just 8 lbs. He has a beautiful red and brown coat that is very soft. Evan loves to go for walks and is a pleasure to walk on a leash. He also will sit on your lap and cuddle any chance he gets. He is very treat motivated and will be easy to train. He is a little possessive of his food, so he would be best as the only dog.

Evan gets along with other dogs when outside the home, but would like to be your one and only dog at home.

To meet Evan, come to the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services, 5480 Gaines Street, San Diego 92110. Open Tuesdays - Saturdays, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Closed Sundays, Mondays and holidays.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Evan, a Vista Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Vista, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
