Cali is a 4 yr old throwaway momma that spent far too long sitting at a local shelter. Her foster family saw something special in her, and in her foster home she is proving how right they were. She is a sweetheart just looking to be loved. Cali does well with other pups and lives with cats. She absolutely adores kids! Her ideal home would have a family that likes to exercise (she is a young pittie after all!) and a home that won't leave her alone for long periods of time. She wants to be included in your life! Cali is the perfect dog to take on a long walk and then spend the night cuddling on the couch. She will be a wonderful family dog.

Our goal is to find the best fit for all because adopting a dog is a life long commitment. To this end, we carefully screen all applicants, conduct home visits and meet & greets to ensure that all members of the family get along harmoniously. All dogs are micro chipped, spayed/neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines prior to placement.
1. Start by completing the online adoption application found here: thankdogrescue.org/adopt
2. Once the adoption application is approved, a volunteer will call or email to schedule a meet and greet and home visit. All members of the household should be present for both.
3. If approved to adopt, pay the adoption fee prior to or on day of permanent placement and agree to sign the Adoption Contract.
Adoption Fees:
Adults $200
Puppies $250*
These fees help to recover some of the costs for vetting, food and supplies, and go right back into the pool to save additional dogs in need.
A few things to keep in mind prior to completing our application:
*We prefer applicants who are at least 21 years or older and will take special precautions in approving those in the range of 21 - 25 years. This is a period of time where many are in a state of flux. We only wish our dogs stable, permanent homes, so please understand our hesitation and respect our decision because it is all for the good of the dogs.
*Landlord and/or condo association consent (if applicable)
*Be prepared to show identification showing current address
*Be committed to having the dog for the duration of its life (10 - 15 years)
*Believe in and practice positive reinforcement training and non-aversive training methods (shock, choke, prong collars and invisible/electric fences are NOT WELCOME here)
