My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BRANDY: ~8-Year-Old Chocolate Female Lab 65 lbs

Brandy came to us from the Tri-City Animal Shelter in Fremont. She’d been found as a stray in San Leandro in late January. She passed our eval with flying colors, and was spayed and vaccinated by the shelter. They also removed a bad tooth and removed several lumps and bumps. We named her “Brandy” as she is a relaxing, intoxicating dog that is a pleasure to be with.

What Brandy’s foster says: She is really the most mellow dog and while tall she is not that big. Brandy is calm and really asks for little. She has been on tie down and crate. I think she likes tie-down better and sleeps in a dog bed through the night on the tie-down. She has not had any messes in the house. She does like to eat. She also pulls on the leash but I think that will settle down. She is a little slow to bond. She is at her happiest when she rolls on the floor on her back and just seems to giggle about it. I had a house full of people here this weekend and she was fine. No issue getting along with the three dogs here in our home. A little growly around food now and then but rare. Not aggressive in any way. She does like to be outside and may bolt if given the chance.

What Brandy’s Rescue Rep says: Brandy has all her shots, and is spayed, heartworm-negative and micro-chipped. She does have some small lumps and bumps as many older dogs do, but they do not slow her down or appear to cause her any discomfort. Brandy is ideal for an older family that loves to take walks and enjoy the company of a dog by their side as they relax around the house. Not sure how she would do with cats, but she’d be fine in a home with an existing dog. Her gentle nature may even be suitable for a family with children.

If you want this lovely girl to be a part of your family, please contact Rescue Rep Dave at 415-686-4248.

(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. I do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient and I will be back in touch with you. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
