Big fan of: People! Nikki suffered a severely traumatic incident prior to being rescued and brought to PAWS; however, despite the abuse he suffered in the past, Nikki is extremely affection and trusting of humans. He is not scared by anyone, even people he is not familiar with. This sweet guy is ready to make friends with just about everyone he meets! Nikki loves sitting in laps and cannot get enough cheek and hind leg scratches! He also adores his scratching posts- a flat cardboard one as well as the Scratcher Lounge II, which doubles as his favorite napping spot.
Not a big fan of: Being held tightly or confined to a small space. Due to Nikki’s prior trauma, he is very fearful of being held, even if a human’s intention is to cuddle. His future family must be careful to respect his wishes and not allow him to feel trapped or restrained. Also, Nikki gets lonely when left by himself for long periods of time and would do best with an adopter who will not leave him alone for extended hours.
A little more… Poor Nikki was rescued back in June after a group of abusive youth injured him with lit fireworks. Luckily, he survived and was brought to PAWS where he was promptly treated for his injuries and once stabilized, transferred to foster care to being the healing process. After two months of healing and recovery in his foster home, Nikki has learned that not all people are bad and has let his true personality traits shine- gentle, chatty, easy going, and extremely loveable.
Dream home: This courageous kitty has endured unspeakable hardships in the past and deserves the best possible forever home out there. While Nikki has been through a lot in his life, you’d never know it by looking at him. He would be a great addition to almost any home, although he would be best suited for a household where he would not be left alone for long periods of time. Nikki has an amazing spirit and his strength is truly inspirational. Could you be the one to give him a home where he’ll never have to worry about being hurt again?
