My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Allona came to us September/2014, after having spent the first two years of her life in a cat colony. During this time we believe she was hit by a car, severely injuring a back leg. We looked into having the leg fixed, but she navigated just fine with the way the bones healed so we decided “fixing” may cause more harm than good.

With that in mind, we set about finding her an environment in which she could flourish, but she was determined to make that anything but easy. See, Allona has anxiety, and when she is overwhelmed by her environment and too many cats, she tends to over-groom. At a shelter full of cats, keeping her anxiety down is darn near impossible. She started out keeping to herself in a cozy cubby. With little hair and cubbies to hide in, she has been consistently overlooked by adopters.

Recently, though, Allona has come out of her shell – demanding pets (aka meowing in your face when you stop), playing with toys, and her silky black coat is currently full and thick. Now all she needs is someone to take a chance on her, to overlook her anxiety and her slightly twisted leg, and be that solid environment she can count on. Everyone deserves the chance to fly, don’t they?

Allona was born 2012, and has been with us since 2014. She has been fully vetted and is up to date on her vaccines. She is shy, has anxiety, and is easily overwhelmed by other cats. Therefore we recommend she live in a quiet home with no dogs and no children. While she would do best as an only cat, she may coexist well with other cats of similar personality’s.
