Hi! I'm Barney. I am a 1-year-old male Wheaten Terrier mix. Have you ever seen a dog cuter than me?! My friends here at CageFree think I look like a stuffed animal. :)
I'm fluffy and cuddly, I'm super sweet and affectionate, and I love giving kisses to my human friends. Oh and I should mention - I'm friendly with other doggies too! I'm very outgoing and happy, nothing like the shy and nervous guy I used to be. Why was I so scared, you ask? Well, just a couple of weeks ago I was living on the streets. I was minding my own business, scrounging for food and trying to survive, when out of nowhere another dog came up and attacked me! He got me on the neck pretty good and he bit down hard enough to make a couple of puncture wounds. I was in pain, and no one was around to help me. Then someone found me and took me to what I thought would be a safe and comfy place to heal. But instead, I found myself at a big scary place that I hear is called "the pound". I sat in my kennel and waited, hoping and praying that I could get out of there. As luck would have it, a kind volunteer noticed my cute fluffy face and winning personality, and asked CageFree to rescue me from my dire situation. It must have been my lucky day, because they agreed to take me in!
They brought me to their personal veterinarian to have my bite wounds looked at. Fortunately, they're not too serious, just a bit infected. With a few more days of medication, I'll be as good as new. :)
All I need now to complete my happy ending is a great family. I'm a perfectly sweet and lovely fellow who just wants some love and affection. Don't worry, I'll give you kisses too!
