I am already neutered, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and not good with cats.
Who doesn’t enjoy a good love story? There are Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella and her Prince Charming, and here at RBARI, there are Roscoe and Clover.
They are a most unlikely but totally devoted pair.
Clover is a 6-year-old unusual female Corgi-Lab mix, beautiful and sweet. She came to us from a hoarder situation where she was never socialized to humans, and so she is very shy with new people.
Roscoe is a handsome, gentle 4-year-old male Basset hound, who came to us from Louisiana, where he probably spent most of his life living outdoors, also without much human interaction. He is very shy and particularly terrified of men. We think he was abused by a man in his past, but he is not at all aggressive.
Both of them are loving once they know and trust you, but Roscoe will only give that trust to women. He has been known to turn into a lap dog when he loves someone.
Our instinct was to pair each of them with a more social dog, but the heart wants what it wants. When Roscoe met Clover, it was love at first sight. When they gaze at each other with their big dark eyes, it will melt your heart. The two happily share a kennel, they play every morning in the shelter’s play yard, and they are inseparable. They have a calming effect on each other, and they clearly want to spend their future together. As they are as one, we are asking for one fee for both dogs.
We are looking for a special, calm female home to provide a “happily ever after” ending for this canine love story. Could they have a place in your home and your heart?
