My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peanut is an all around happy dog. She is 2-4 years old, 8 lbs, and a chihuahua mix.

Peanut has been a lovely house guest so far and has made herself right at home. She is wonderful with cats and absolutely loves everyone. She will be a great dog for a family with kids as she loves to play and hasn't shown any signs of guarding or aggression. Our home has two dogs and Peanut is fine with them--unless they bark. Barking dogs of any size, seem to trigger some anxiety and anger in her and she will not hesitate to bite the other dog. Therefore, we think it is best that Peanut find a family in which she will be the only dog.

Peanut is very agile and can easily scale a baby gate, if she so desires. She has no trouble jumping onto beds and other furniture. She loves to play with toys, both with her people on her own. She will collect stuffed animals, socks, winter hats and mittens and bring them to her favorite spots in the house. However, she does not destroy an of these items.

Peanut is fabulous in a crate and will often be found napping in there. She goes right in at bedtime and when we leave during the day. She only barks upon our arrival home and it's a "I'm right here--I know you didn't forget about me!" type of plea.

Peanut does need to work on house training and will need someone who will have patience with her while she learns.

Peanut is being fostered in Charlton and her adoption fee is $350.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.Peanut
